Neuropsychological Assessment

Dr Grima specialises in diagnosing cognitive impairments and brain injuries resulting from neurological, psychiatric, developmental, or acquired conditions. With over a decade of experience, she has worked with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Dementia: Alzheimer's dementia, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Dementia with Lewy Bodies

  • Mild cognitive impairment

  • Acquired brain injuries: Stroke, traumatic brain injury

  • Autoimmune disorders: Multiple sclerosis

  • Metabolic conditions: Heart disease, diabetes

  • Developmental conditions: Intellectual disability, learning disorders, ADHD in adults

  • Psychiatric conditions: Major depressive disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders

Dr Grima also has extensive experience working with interpreters and tailoring assessments for individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Decision Making Capacity Assessments

Dr Grima provides specialized assessments to determine whether a cognitive disability affects an individual’s ability to make informed financial, medical, or lifestyle decisions, such as choosing between aged care placement or remaining at home.

She also conducts assessments to evaluate testamentary capacity, determining an individual’s ability to create or amend their will.

Comprehensive decision-making capacity (DMC) reports can be prepared to support applications to VCAT or other relevant legal proceedings.

Sleep and Fatigue Treatment

Dr Grima has extensive experience diagnosing and treating sleep disorders such as insomnia, shift work disorder, and delayed sleep phase disorder (DSPD). Using cognitive-behavioural and acceptance and commitment therapy frameworks, she applies gold-standard treatments to improve sleep and help manage fatigue.

She also specialises in managing sleep and fatigue disorders following traumatic brain injuries and stroke, having served as a therapist in multiple clinical trials at Monash University for patients with acquired brain injuries.
